1986 CITROEN 2CV6

.

Although it was not launched until 1948, Citroen’s 2CV had its origins in 1935 when company boss Pierre Boulanger ordered the development of a minimal cost vehicle for farm and family use with considerable cross-country ability.
The brief was for a car that would carry two persons and a 50kg sack of potatoes across rough ground at a speed of 60km/h (37mph) with a fuel consumption of no more than 3 litres per 100km (94mpg) – not, as has been suggested, to carry a basket of eggs across a ploughed field, although this it could achieve with ease..
Although the original 375cc air-cooled flat-twin engine grew, eventually, to 602cc, the 2CV's performance remained modest at around 70mph flat-out, not that that concerned the majority of its devotees for whom the roomy interior, full-length sunroof and frugal fuel consumption were of far greater importance.
First registered in August 1986, this 2CV6 was purchased by the vendor’s son about 10 years ago, but when junior became slightly financially embarrassed, dad felt obliged to buy it from him in 2012. Showing some 78,700 miles on the clock, it was last MOT'd and in use in 2013.
Kept in nice dry storage since, it has been started and driven under its own steam fairly recently and should be relatively straightforward to recommission for the road.

1974 MV AUGUSTA 850 SCRAMBLER ELECTRONICA
Chassis No 21305876

The 350 Scrambler Electronica is an extremely rare motorcycle. This example has recently been fully restored to Museum standard by one of Italy’s leading specialists. The restoration was fully documented and photographed, deals of which can be found in the history file.

This is one of only 217 scramblers produced by MV Agusta prior to their departure from motorcycle manufacture to helicopters in 1976. This fabulous example had only done 6000 kms prior to its restoration and has not turned a wheel since the restoration was finished. The bike is presented with the correct Italian documentation and its original registration plate. Following the rebuild and careful checks, the bike was signed off by former Italian Grand Prix Motorcyle racer with MV Agusta, Remo Venturi, alongside John Surtees. Enrico Sironi, the Director of the MV Agusta Historical Register inspected the bike and provided a certificate confirming this bike is correct to the original specification as supplied when new. The bike has been run up, tested and will come to auction with a NOVA certificate.

1959 ARIEL 350cc RED HUNTER
Frame Number: CAPR13515
Registration Number: 861 XUG

By 1930, Ariel's Val Page-designed singles had gained a rear-mounted magneto and their distinctive timing cover, and the basic engine design, although frequently revised, would last well into the post-war era. The sports versions were christened 'Red Hunter' and under Page's successor Edward Turner, developed into fast and stylish machines. In 1946 the Hunters became the first models to feature Ariel's new telescopic front fork, and the following year could be ordered with the optional Anstey Link plunger rear suspension. In 1956 full-width alloy hubs were adopted across the range, and the Red Hunters continued in this form until production of Ariel four-strokes ceased in 1959.

Dating from the final year of production, this 350 Red Hunter appears to be largely original and has been used very little of late. Sitting proudly on its original Dunlop wheel rims and still sporting the original Smiths chronometric speedometer, this Ariel oozes charm and charisma. The vendor has a small but impressive collection of motorcycles and is now running out of space; hence the reason why this handsome machine is offered for sale. Supplied with a registration document and a full year’s MoT test certificate, this Ariel Red Hunter is offered for sale without reserve.
